E. A. Uffman and Associates was established by Elmer A. Uffman in 1947. Elmer A. Uffman was an experienced credit and collection manager from St. Louis, Missouri. Just prior to moving to Baton Rouge, he served as collection service division administrator for the Associated Credit Bureaus of America.

E. A. Uffman and Associates operated as a sole proprietorship until December 1988. In January of 1989, E. A. Uffman and Associates, incorporated as E. A. Uffman and Associates, Inc., a closely held corporation.
